There is much to be learned from the experiences of employees and employee families who have participated any part of the "expatriate process," including repatriation. There is no doubt your company has done many things for global assignees that were helpful and appreciated. But it is fair to say there are aspects of the expatriate process that could be improved, if it was only known what improvements were needed. The most qualified sources of useful information about the expatriate process are found among your employees and employee families who are living the expatriate process, or who have been through it.
This service would assess the perceptions of managers, International HR personnel, and your employees and employee families who have shared the expatriate experience. Specifically, we would seek their perceptions on the strengths of the steps taken to facilitate the expatriate experience in your company, and identify areas in which improvements are needed, with suggestions on alternative remedial action that might be taken.
Steps in the audit would include:
Identification by company mangement of participants in the assessment as to name, position in your company (or spouse of a specific employee) and e-mail address.
After potential participants in the audit are identified, an appropriate company representative would contact all potential participants and notify them of the audit and encourage them to participate when contacted by the contractor completing the audit.
Each invitee would be contacted by e-mail and told how and when the data would be collected. Each invitee would be free to participate or to decline.
Information would be collected within 30-45 days.
Data would be analyzed and provided in a written report 30 days after the data collection is completed.
The final report would include alternative suggestions on how modifications in the way your global assignees encounter the expatriate experience could add value to the well being of expatriates and to their productivity and company profitability.
If requested, an in-person PowerPoint report would be delivered to your company at an appropriate corporate office.
